All the coffees our expert baristas make use triple certified beans (organic, Fairtrade and Rainforest Alliance). Our teas and infusion come from Hampstead Tea London. They are Fairtrade and organic. We also serve a wide range of sustainably sourced and locally produced cold drinks (often organic) such as Dalstons, Chegworth Valley and more.
We offer a selection of fresh homemade sandwiches and panini (including vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options), a daily homemade soup, and a selection of quiches, savoury items, and salads at lunchtimes.
Our retail items
We stock a large range of organic and Fairtrade snack bars, chocolates, ice creams and locally produced crisps. We also have a range of Zaytoun products, a social enterprise which helps support communities in the occupied territories of Palestine.
Monday - Friday: 8:00 am - 6:00 pm

The café will be closed on Saturday 3rd and 10th of August.
Suspended soup scheme
You might have heard of suspended coffee but have you heard of suspended soup? A suspended soup is a pre-paid soup that has been purchased in our café. A soup voucher is then held to be claimed by anyone that needs it for whatever reason, no questions asked. To claim a soup, people can just ask at Friends House reception if a voucher is available. Soups are served in the café, Monday to Friday 12.00 pm - 6.00 pm. For every suspended soup purchased, we will match it like for like.
Anyone is entitled to a suspended soup.
