The Quaker Centre Café is located within Friends House. The café offers a large variety of hot and cold dishes, sandwiches, quiches, cakes, snacks, and drinks, to eat in or take away. Our unique approach to food means that we are committed to serving locally sourced, organic and Fairtrade food, where possible.
The restaurant is currently closed for refurbishment and will reopen as Seed Kitchen in late Autumn 2019
The Quaker Centre Café is located on the ground floor of Friends House and is open:
- Monday to Friday: 8:00 am - 6:00 pm
- Saturday: 8:30 am – 3:30 pm
- Sunday: Closed
The café welcomes everyone. Whether you are grabbing a coffee on the go, joining us for lunch or having cream tea whilst waiting for your train, we look forward to serving you.
The restaurant is currently closed to the public as we are carrying refurbishment work. It will reopen in late Autumn 2019 as Seed Kitchen. By the end of this year, you will find a renovated and redecorated dining space. You will also be able to try a brand new vegetarian and vegan menu. Why this decision? We have pledged to reduce animal-based products served at Friends House and our impact on the environment. We believe that this is the right thing to do if we want to: not compromise the future of our planet and its resources, and not compromise on taste.
Our chefs are currently training and learning more about vegetarian and vegan cuisines. We will keep you updated on the refurbishment work and chefs’ training in our News section and on the Seed Kitchen Facebook page.
This is a very exciting time for us and we cannot wait to unveil Seed Kitchen later this year. In the meantime, you can enjoy lunch in the Quaker Centre Café, with a variety of hot vegetarian and vegan dishes.
