5 types of events you didn’t know could happen at Friends House

We have hosted many types of events at Friends House over the years. Thousands of delegates came to our venue for conferences, graduations, training, and more. Some also attended events you would not necessarily think of when you see our venue. What if we told you that we once had an art performance, including a dancing robot. It really happened and took place in The Light auditorium a few years ago.

Our venue is really not just about meetings and conferences. Like the events we host, it is very versatile. So, here are five types of events you didn’t know could happen at Friends House.

  1. Filming

Have you spotted us on your TV before? Friends House can be hired for filming TV shows, series, movies, and more. The building has a very distinctive neo-Georgian architecture and would be perfect for period dramas. The Light auditorium, one of the latest additions to the building, adds a striking touch of modernity too. Both our outdoor garden and inner courtyard are also great for exterior scenes. Our many meeting rooms can serve as dressing rooms, green rooms, or even storage space. Contact our events team to find out more about rates.

  1. Fashion shows

Several shows of the London Fashion Week took place in The Light auditorium. The adaptable large space was fully transformed and redecorated, and our AV team worked their magic with great lighting. Some of the shows were even featured in Vogue magazine. The crews used the adjacent Ada Salter room to set up their make-up and hair stations. The perfect green room, just a few steps away from the catwalk.

  1. Work out classes

Yoga, pilates, HIIT, Zumba, there’s a space for every work out at Friends House. Our spaces are available for large and small groups. Even under COVID-19 restrictions, we’ll still have a space big enough to meet your needs and allow for social distancing. So, whether you’re looking for a small relaxing space or a bigger space with plenty of room to move, we’ve got the right space for you.

  1. Projections on the facade

Did you know? You can also use the facade of Friends House for projections. In 2013, Greenpeace did a 3D projection on our venue to alert people of the effects of climate change on the Arctic. It looked amazing and you can see it on YouTube. If you would like to do something similar for your brand or take over the facade for a promotional operation, get in touch with our events team.

  1. Independent markets

Independent markets, showcasing craft makers or independent sellers, have multiplied over the last few years. Some even have their own Christmas edition. We share the values of these independent markets, which favour small independent and local businesses. The 200sqm-flat floor in the Light auditorium is perfect for stalls, which can extend to our large corridors too. The courtyard is also a bonus for those who want to rest and recharge with a hot drink and a pastry after shopping. What’s more? We’re in central London, our rates are affordable, thus making our venue the perfect place for market traders.

Bonus: with our peace of mind promise for new bookings between January and March 2021, you’ll have the possibility to either cancel your event for free by giving us five working days notice, or to move it to a later date in 2021. Book now to enjoy our flexible booking terms.
