Friends House: A place to meet safely

Date posted:23 Sep 2020      |      Author: Cecilia B

Large meetings aren’t coming back just yet…

The Government has just announced that large meetings and events of 30+ delegates wouldn’t resume on the 1st of October. If you have a 30+ meeting booked from October, please contact our Events Team by email with your booking reference in the subject line. This is a big blow for the events industry, but not all is lost as small meetings for up to 30 delegates are allowed to carry on.

…But we still welcome you for your small meetings

Friends House is one of the very few central London venues to have reopened. And we’ve already hosted a few small meetings, with great feedback from both the organisers and delegates. One of them even told us that they felt “very comfortable” in our venue. It’s amazing for us to hear, as the team has worked very hard to make the venue COVID-secure, while still providing a smooth event experience. So, if you’d like to have a smaller meeting or know someone who’s looking for a small space for their event, we’ll happily welcome you at Friends House.

COVID-safe meetings at Friends House

We follow all the latest Government’s COVID-19 Secure guidelines. The Meetings Industry Association (MIA) and Visit England delivered their COVID-secure accreditations to us: AIM Secure and ‘We’re Good To Go’. Both accreditations recognise the excellence of our COVID-safety protocols in terms of cleaning, hygiene, and processes. You can find them all in our COVID-19 resource centre, which we update regularly.

A few more changes to how we meet

New rules are coming into place in the next few days. As of Thursday 24 September:

  • Both customers and staff at Friends House will need to wear face covering (including in the meeting rooms), except when seated at a table to eat or drink.
  • People who are already exempt from the existing face covering obligations, such as because of an underlying health condition, will continue to be exempt from these new obligations. Organisers will need to let the events team know prior to their event if someone is exempt.

Come and meet safely at Friends House!
