Friends House is home to 32 meeting rooms and suites available for events. In honour of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) (external link) who own the Quiet Company, each room is named after notable Quakers (external link). The building is also home to The Light, a 1000-seater auditorium which can host various events such as conferences, book launches, and even fashion shows.
No two companies are the same – and neither are our rooms. Each room has its own distinct characteristics and has a variety of layouts available. Several of our spaces, such as the Benjamin Lay and Hilda Clark suites, can be divided into more than one space, which is ideal if you need to hold separate discussions in parallel.
All of our rooms let in natural light, which is proven to improve people’s concentration while working, so your delegates will get the most out of your event. Our rooms are also installed with built-in and freestanding AV equipment for your convenience. Ask which room best suits your needs when you book with our Events Team: call on 0203 663 1100 or enquire online.
Refurbished in 2014, The Light auditorium is our main event space, able to seat up to 1,000 delegates. Previously known as the Large Meeting House, it was originally designed as a place for worship for Quakers and is still used as the main site for Friends’ British Yearly Meeting.
The Light is available in four different layouts: Theatre, Exhibitions, Cabaret, and Banquet. It has its own entrance and reception area for your privacy and has a dedicated audio-visual (AV) team that can help you create the perfect atmosphere for your event. Did you know that when you book The Light you can also book our open-air courtyard for your delegates to enjoy during breaks or at lunch? Talk to our Events Team for advice on which options would suit your event best.
We’re as passionate about food as we are about events. Our food is organic, Fairtrade, and locally sourced where possible, so your delegates can dine on delicious, high-quality food. We also offer Wellbeing Day Delegate Packages, a healthier alternative to our standard packages. The food in these packages complies with the advice given in Public Health England’s Eatwell Guide (external link). The Wellbeing Day Delegate Packages provide delegates with a delicious selection of fresh fruit, nuts, and cereal bars.
Your event should leave an impression on your delegates – but not on the environment. Friends House follows the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (external link) to help reduce our carbon emissions, cut our waste, and procure goods and services in an ethically and environmentally responsible way. Our efforts to live up to our environmental values have been recognised by the Camden Climate Change Alliance, Carbon Smart, and the Sustainable Restaurant Association. You can book an event at Friends House safe in the knowledge that it’s as environmentally friendly as possible.
