CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

We are committed to corporate social responsibility. We promote an inclusive workplace and society for all. We value our staff and want our venue to be a safe working environment where everyone is offered the same opportunities. We strive for an inclusive society where disadvantaged groups are considered and given opportunities to be part of the community.

Procurement

Our purchase of good and services are delivered under conditions that should not involve the abuse or exploitation of any persons and have the least negative impact on the environment. Our policies on purchasing and supply can be found in our Modern Slavery Statement page.

Working with Disadvantaged Groups

We launched the Bake The Difference programme to help ex-offenders integrate into society through practical and theoretical cooking and baking skills.

We are hosting The HUB once a week, a space co-designed with men who have experienced the prison system. It is a safe place for them to meet other people and to get support, such as: 1-1 professional advice and support with housing, benefits, volunteering, employment, education, training, health and wellbeing.

Treating Staff Fairly

We are a Living Wage Employer and pay staff above the London Living Wage, that currently stands at £11.05. There is currently a 1:4 ratio between the highest and lowest paid member of staff.

Helping Those in Need

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we had to put our Suspended Soup scheme on hold. We are glad to announce, it will restart in March. Customers in the Seed Café can pay a soup forward at the till. Those who need it can then claim a soup voucher from reception, no questions asked, and be served a soup in the café.

With the help of Toilet Twinning, we have twinned all the toilets in our venue. This has helped several communities across the globe access safe latrines or toilets.
